Tsogo Sun Unveils Refurbished Hemingways

This 4-star hotel and casino is located in the city of East London, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The project launched in January 2012 and included upgrades to the casino floor and slots and table games expansions; a new bar restaurant; a bigger smoking casino; two stylish new Salon Prives (one smoking and one non-smoking); six cinemas and the biggest 3D cinema screen in the Eastern Cape; and a fully-equipped crèche for up to 30 children.
 The Hemingways Casino building also received an external facelift. The expansion and upgrade included two new wings with an extra 41 luxury rooms and executive suites, bringing the total number of rooms to 108; a new hotel restaurant, swimming pool, and gym; as well as an additional 107 secure undercover parking bays.
 In addition, Venue@Hemingways, a multi-purpose conferencing and event venue, with a pre-function reception area and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, has also been constructed adjacent to the hotel. This venue was completed by the end of 2012 and is being used for conferencing and banqueting functions, music concerts, entertainment, comedy shows, and lifestyle events such as expos, food and wine fairs, fashion shows, and product launches.
 Venue@Hemingways can accommodate from 10 to 750 people in different seating configurations, including schoolroom style, banqueting, cinema-style, and U-shape seating.
The venue also offers clients and visitors the added convenience of entertainment, restaurants, and the casino within the centre, as well as a link to the adjacent mall. Built on 11 hectares, the Hemingways Hotel and Casino Complex is bounded by the N2 highway, Two Rivers Drive and Western Avenue, offering easy access to and from main roads, highways and the airport, as well as various tourist attractions in the area.

Monarch Hotel Opens Doors, Once Again

The Monarch Hotel, part of the Mantis Collection, is located in Rosebank in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs and has re-opened its doors to guests, after recent refurbishments.
The building was constructed in the 1930s and used as a post office until the 1990s, but the hotel closed its doors temporarily, to coincide with the scheduled road maintenance necessitated by the building of the Gautrain’s Rosebank station, which is conveniently accessible from the hotel.
Guests can enjoy the choice of six luxury or five royal suites equipped with all the technological comforts of today’s age. All suites come standard with electronic safe, flat-screen TV, selected DSTV channels, DVD player, under-floor heating, air-conditioning, Internet, heated towel rails, hair dryer, private bar and tea & coffee-making facilities. Courtesy vehicles are available to transport guests.

Refurb for The Cullinan

 Southern Sun The Cullinan hotel is undergoing a refurbishment, which started in February, with phase two ending in October. The project will see a redecoration of all areas within the hotel. Spacious guest bedrooms with striking views of Cape Town’s Table Mountain, the Atlantic Ocean and Table Bay Harbour are receiving a makeover. 124 rooms have been completed with the rest to be finished by the end of August.

The “new” reinvented bedrooms will sport new bedroom bulkheads, wallpaper, paint, carpets, dressing table mirrors, curtains, pelmets and pedestal lamps. The refurbishment includes new wall and floor tiling, new vanity mirrors, down lighting and new toilet accessories in 278 bathrooms. Located within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront, the Cape Town International Convention Centre(CICC) and the City Bowl, this hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the Mother City.

Three Cities Relaunch Inn on the Square

After the recent R35 million refurbishment, the Inn on the Square now presents itself as a contemporary and colourful mid-market hotel, promising functionality and quality for both business and leisure travellers alike.

 25 kilometres from Cape Town International Airport, the Inn on The Square is conveniently located within the business hub of Cape Town with both the Cape Town International Convention Centre and the V & A Waterfront a short 10-minute walk from the hotel.

ExecuJet SA Upgrades Passenger Lounge

ExecuJet South Africa have unveiled their newly refurbished VIP Passenger Lounge at the company’s Lanseria Fixed-Based Operation, to the north-west of Johannesburg.

The development of the new lounge is aimed at enhancing passenger and pilot comfort. The refurbishments at the facility include the reception area, VIP Passenger Lounge, crew lounge and restrooms, as well as the upgrading of signage.

Further to that, during the launch cocktail function last month, clients and media were also introduced to the new addition to the company’s charter fleet – a  Global Express XRS intercontinental wide-body jet.
