Aero Launches Douala Flight

According to ngrguardiannews, Nigeria’s Aero Contractors launched its inaugural flight from Lagos to Douala, the largest city in Cameroon, this week.
Flight Operations and Accountable Manager Ressel Leefoon said that Aero Contractors intends to increase its flights operations to Cameroon.
He further noted that subsequent flights on this route would be operated by Boeing 737 aircraft, as the number of passenger’s increases.

New Destinations for RwandAir

 According to eturbonews.com, RwandAir has announced the launch of direct flights from Kigali to Douala (Cameroon) and Juba (South Sudan). This follows the announcement that the airline will soon be flying to Accra (Ghana) five times a week.
Douala will be served four times a week and both flights will leave Kigali in the afternoon, whereas the return flight for Kigali leaves the following morning. Boeing 737-700NG or B737-800NG aircraft will be used on the route, offering both Business and Economy Class. The Accra and Douala services will launch on 1 June. The two cities will join Brazzaville, Libreville and Lagos as RwandAir’s West African destinations.
 The Juba service will launch on 1 July and will initially be served three times a week, with the recently-acquired brand new CRJ900NextGen regional jets. Departure from Kigali will be at 09h45 and the return flight from Juba to Kigali will take off at 13h00, South Sudan time. This will take the number of RwandAir destinations to 16.

Turkish Airlines Flies to Libreville


Turkish Airlines has added a 97th country to its route network by commencing flights to Libreville, Gabon, according to China.org.cn.
 The airline will operate flights from Istanbul, via Douala, to Libreville, which will be its 34th destination in Africa. Turkish Airlines will fly the route three days a week in both directions.
The inaugural phase will last until March, during which time the airline will schedule three rotational flights from Libreville every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 03h10 local time.
 Departure from Istanbul is set at 17h45 every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The flights will arrive in the Gabonese capital at 02h10, after a stopover in Douala. Turkish Airlines is a member of Star Alliance.

Arik Adds New Route

Arik Air has begun scheduled commercial services between Lagos, Nigeria and Douala, Cameroon, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Outbound flights depart Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at 11h10 (local time) and arrive in Douala at 12h40 (local time), whilst inbound flights leave Douala at 13h25 (local time) and arrive in Lagos at 14:55 (local time). The route is served with a Boeing 737-700 Next Generation aircraft with a two-class cabin, made up of 12 Business Class seats and 112 Economy Class seats. Business Class passengers enjoy a 44-inch seat pitch, cradle-style seat, while Economy Class passengers have a seat pitch of 34 inches. The new Lagos-Douala route is Arik Air’s second foray into Central Africa, coming after the inauguration of the Lagos-Luanda (Angola) route in December last year.
